Meet The Roasters

THE GIRL WHO NEEDS DECAF

Carol — Founder & CEO, SCA Certified Coffee Roaster

Carol gave up caffeine because her body told her to. She didn't love it. The decaf she found was terrible — flat, stale, and nothing like the coffee she'd spent years learning to love. So she got certified, learned to roast, and decided to fix it herself.

She's also passionate about all things natural and healthy, which is why Swiss Water® Process was never a question — chemical-free decaffeination that preserves the flavor was the only way she was willing to do it.

THE GUY WHO DRINKS REGULAR

Eric — Co-Owner & Head Roaster, SCA Certified Coffee Roaster

Eric just loves coffee. Full stop. He roasts everything — decaf and regular — with the same obsession and the same standards. His job is to make sure what ends up in your bag is worth drinking, regardless of what's in (or not in) it.

38 YEARS. 8 KIDS. ONE ROASTERY.

Carol and Eric have been married for 38 years and homeschooled all eight of their children. They founded Talking Crow in the Pacific Northwest and eventually made their way to the "other Northwest" — Northwest Arkansas — where they've been roasting ever since.

Why We Built This Business

We founded Talking Crow because we believe decaf deserves to be excellent. Not as a compromise. Not as a backup plan. As a legitimate choice.

Caffeine sensitivity isn't weakness — it's information. The morning ritual is sacred, and everyone should get to keep theirs. Decaf drinkers deserve real quality and real choice.

That conviction is why we exist. It's also why we take our regular coffee just as seriously — because good coffee is good coffee, and everyone at this table deserves a great cup.

COFFEE IS FOR EVERYONE - CAFFEINE ISN'T.™

What Our Name Means

When Eric was a boy, he found an injured crow in the woods and built a rehab setup. Named him Tony. When Tony healed, he came back—flying alongside Eric's school bus, landing on the playground to visit kids who needed him, especially one autistic boy who learned to talk through their exchange. Tony became known as "Tony, the Talking Crow"—not famous, just loyal. He showed up for people nobody else was paying attention to.

That's what we're doing here. Decaf drinkers have been invisible. Told to settle. Told it's a compromise. We're saying: you're not the exception. You're exactly who we're here for.

We answer our own emails. We use Swiss Water Process decaf coffee so that it tastes amazing and is chemical-free. We roast small-batch. We source from farmers we know. Because service means showing up. Because relationships matter more than speed.

This is a decaf company built on the belief that you deserve better.

Coffee is for everyone - Caffeine isn't.
