Barrel aged coffee is green (unroasted) coffee that has been aged in retired whiskey, bourbon, or rum barrels for a few weeks at a time, allowing the beans to take in all the flavor that is left in the wooden barrels, slowly developing a complex flavor profile.

After the coffee beans have aged, we roast them to a medium level, which best presents the flavors of strong vanilla, caramel, and bourbon.  Whiskey barrel aged coffee can be brewed hot or cold, but more flavor will be detected with cold brew. (Remember you can always heat up cold brew for a hot coffee drink.) There are no alcohol or artificial flavorings in these Whiskey Barrel coffees. Aroma: Roasted hazelnut butter

Body: Medium

Acidity: Medium

Tasting Notes: Dark Chocolate, Brown Sugar, Hazelnut, Raisin

Milling Process: Pulped Natural

The growing altitude is 1,200 meters above sea level.  The varietals are red and yellow Catuai, yellow Bourbon, and Catucai.  The harvest period is July - September.
