
Barrel aged coffee is green (unroasted) coffee that has been aged in retired whiskey, bourbon, or rum barrels for a few weeks at a time, allowing the beans to take in all the flavor that is left in the wooden barrels, slowly developing a complex flavor profile.
After the coffee beans have aged, we roast them to a medium level, which best presents the flavors of strong vanilla, caramel, and bourbon. Whiskey barrel aged coffee can be brewed hot or cold, but more flavor will be detected with cold brew. (Remember you can always heat up cold brew for a hot coffee drink.)
