Cultivated from the fertile Indonesian island, this bean is known for its full body with spicy flavors of earthy notes and dried herbs. And once you drink it, you won’t help but feel the smoothness on your palate. Sumatran coffees are wet-hulled which is similar to washed, but it is hulled at a different moisture level giving it its distinct rich, syrupy body, low acidity, and earthy, deep plum flavor notes.  

Swiss Water Process Decaf

Acidity: Low/Mild

Aroma: Earthy

Body:  Rich/Creamy

Milling Process: Wet-hulled, Sun-dried

Tasting Notes:  Clean earthy, with notes of almonds, chocolate and lemongrass.

The growing altitude is 1200- 1700 meters above sea level.  The varietals are Typica and Catimor. The Harvest period is October - December. 

The Swiss Water Process is a chemical-free method for removing caffeine from green coffee. It involves soaking green coffee in fresh water until it reaches a saturation level that allows the dissolvable solids, including caffeine, to be removed. Caffeine-free green coffee extract (GCE) is then introduced to the beans, which causes the caffeine molecules to bind to the GCE. The now-decaffeinated coffee is then dried to the proper moisture content and rested before shipment.
